12: 12: 12 - today is
Wednesday with a difference from the date, month and year. Indeed this brings
out the biblical meaning of the number 12 which is GOVERNMENTAL PERFECTION. Philologically
and etymologically, from the Old French government
(French gouvernement), from Latin gubernatio “management, government”, from Ancient Greek κυβερνισμός (kubernismos), κυβέρνησις
(kubernēsis, “steering, pilotage, guiding”), from κυβερνάω, kubernaō, “I steer, drive, guide, pilot”+ -ment. Therefore, Government is derived from the Latin verb, guverno, guvernare meaning “To
control” and Latin noun Mens, mentis
meaning “Mind” therefore, government
means “To control the mind”. From Matt
5:48 Jesus told His disciples "Be ye
perfect", in this case, "perfect" to us today sounds like
absolute perfection, but the Greek word here is "teleios". "Teleios"
means mature or complete. In another way, our sinless
position "in Christ", is
"absolutely perfect", but
our experience here on earth is one of growing in grace towards "maturity" that is teleios, but from the Hebrew word tammam
its meaning in relation is to the English word perfect. Therefore, on this special and extraordinary Wednesday,
date, month and year 12: 12: 12, and with our human relationship as Christians,
we ponder over our maturity, our way to steering, of driving, of guiding, of piloting
and above all of controlling our minds.
It is on this ambient that we are all expected to be governors and owners of
our actions especially those coming from our minds. To be perfect then is a
continuous journey towards heaven, hence avoiding sin and controlling our concupiscence
as seen in 1 Jn. 2:16-17, when this is done we may properly say that we are in
line with the biblical meaning of the number 12 which appeared specially today 12:12:12.
This number will appear again by 100 hundred years coming in 2112, that is 12th
December 2112. Where shall we be by then? Who amongst us now will be alive to
say something about today? Only those born today 12: 12: 12 but the privileged
few who will be 100 years as from today (12:12:2012 to 12:12:2112). Therefore,
let us govern perfectly our individual selves and prepare for the beatific
vision which Scripture said: Esotote vos
perfecti sicut et Pater vester caelestis perfectus est – Be you perfect as
your heavenly Father is perfect Matt.5:48. Happy special and extraordinary date
12:12:12.
