From ages past talking about virginity all eyes, revolve on women, ladies and girls. The reason is that the meaning of virginity circumvents on women and girls all the time. Is it possible for a man or a boy to be a virgin sexually all through his life or remain such when married? The answer is not farfetched. Yes! Continence and abstinence are very important in this regard for men. The Word of God said: Hi sunt, qui cum mulieribus non sunt coinquinati: virgines enim sunt. Hi sequuntur Agnum quocumque ierit. Hi empti sunt ex hominibus primitiæ Deo, et Agno- οὗτοί εἰσιν οἳ μετὰ γυναικῶν οὐκ ἐμολύνθησαν, παρθένοι γάρ εἰσιν. οὗτοι οἱ ἀκολουθοῦντες τῷ ἀρνίῳ ὅπου ἂν ὑπάγῃ. οὗτοι ἠγοράσθησαν ἀπὸ τῶν ἀνθρώπων ἀπαρχὴ τῷ θεῷ καὶ τῷ ἀρνίῳ,-These have kept their virginity undefiled by the touch of woman; these are the Lamb’s attendants, wherever he goes; these have been ransomed for God and the Lamb as the first-fruits of mankind Apoc.(Rev.) 14: 4.

Furthermore, to stand before the throne of God clothed in white robes implies purity of thoughts, words and actions. Ipso facto, this implies virginity. The Bible said: stantes ante thronum, et in conspectu Agni, amicti stolis albis, et palmæ in manibus eorum-ἑστῶτες ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου καὶ ἐνώπιον τοῦ ἀρνίου, περιβεβλημένους στολὰς λευκάς, καὶ φοίνικες ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῶν-These stood before the throne in the Lamb’s presence, clothed in white robes, with palm-branches in their hands Apoc.7: 9b.

It is good to note that this sexual virginity for men makes them holy in their different states of life. If they are married they should be virgins towards their conjugal love, if they are celibates more is demanded of them for total purity, if they are spinsters friendship is not sexual intercourse or relationship. The Bible is very clear to us in this, for it admonishes us all thus: Hoc autem dico secundum indulgentiam, non secundum imperium. Volo enim omnes vos esse sicut meipsum: sed unusquisque proprium donum habet ex Deo: alius quidem sic, alius vero sic. Dico autem non nuptis, et viduis: bonum est illis si sic permaneant, sicut et ego. Quod si non se continent, nubant. Melius est enim nubere, quam uri-τοῦτο δὲ λέγω κατὰ συγγνώμην, οὐ κατ' ἐπιταγήν. θέλω δὲ πάντας ἀνθρώπους εἶναι ὡς καὶ ἐμαυτόν: ἀλλὰ ἕκαστος ἴδιον ἔχει χάρισμα ἐκ θεοῦ, ὁ μὲν οὕτως, ὁ δὲ οὕτως. Λέγω δὲ τοῖς ἀγάμοις καὶ ταῖς χήραις, καλὸν αὐτοῖς ἐὰν μείνωσιν ὡς κἀγώ: εἰ δὲ οὐκ ἐγκρατεύονται γαμησάτωσαν: κρεῖττον γάρ ἐστιν γαμῆσαι ἢ πυροῦσθαι-I say this by way of concession; I am not imposing a rule on you. I wish you were all in the same state as myself; but each of us has his own endowment from God, one to live in this way, another in that. To the unmarried, and to the widows, I would say that they will do well to remain in the same state as myself, but if they have not the gift of continence, let them marry; better to marry than to feel the heat of passion 1 Cor.7: 6-9.

When the Word of God recalls ‘feeling the heat of passion’ it tries to take root from itself as to avoid wrong and sinful impression of friendship. This is why it warns us all saying: Non te reputes in multitudine indisciplinatorum. Memento iræ, quoniam non tardabit-μὴ προσλογίζου σεαυτὸν ἐν πλήθει 18 ταπείνωσον σφόδρα τὴν ψυχήν σου-Do not join the company or be friends with sinners, remember that the wrath of God will not be delayed Sirach 7: (16) 17-18.

Therefore, situating our discussion in reality of the fact of nature of man, let us look at the etymology of the word in question. Virgin or virginity is etymologically attached to Almah (עלמה, plural: alamot עלמות), a Hebrew word meaning a young woman of childbearing age who has not yet had a child, and who may be an unmarried virgin or a married young woman. The term occurs nine times in the Hebrew Bible. The masculine equivalent of almah is elem ("עלם") meaning "youth" or "young man of the age of puberty". Feminizing these terms would result in "young woman" or "young woman of the age of puberty". The masculine elem means puberty, but it does apply to bachur or "young warrior", when boys have matured to the point of being able to support a new household. Almah has a list of sequential "terms, each depicting a fresh stage of life". Viz;

·         yeled or yaldah – new born boy or girl.

·         yonek or yanak - suckling baby.

·         olel - suckling who also eats food, this is translated as "young child/ren" in Lam.4:4.

·         gamal - weaned child (under 3 years old).

·         taph - young child, one who still clings to mother. Derived from the word for brisk, small, tripping steps of young children.

·         elem or almah - firm and strong child

·         na'ar (masc) or na'arah (fem.) - "independent or free child" (from a root meaning "to shake off"), also "handmaid", "servant" or just "girl".

In Greek, virginity or virgin has its meaning with the Hebrew Almah, hence, παρθενίας ή παρθένα ; parthenías í̱ parthéna ? virginity or virgin?  παρθένος, ου, ὁ, ἡ, means a maiden, virgin; extended to men who have not known women. Parthénos is properly, a virgin; a woman who has never had sexual relations; a female (virgin), beyond puberty but not yet married; figuratively, believers when they are pure (chaste), that is faithful to Christ their heavenly Bridegroom (cf. 2 Cor.11:2; Rev.14:4).

Ogun P - Foreplay is a normal human natural action between husband and wife before penetration of the penis inside the vagina, when done properly brings about full sexual satisfaction for both.

Ogun P - Nobody doubts whether human beings are animals, but we are higher animals because of our reasoning capacity and intellects, which lower animal, don’t have. Lower animals were not created in the image of God (cf. Gen.1:27). Some animals that practice oral sex (licking/sucking the vagina (Vulva) of the female animal or penis of the male animal) are Lions, Brown Bears, Goats, Monkeys, Gorilla, Chimpanzees, Bats, etc. Read carefully again these citations with deep reflections and reasoning too: Deut.27:21; Lev.18:22-25; 20:15-16; Rom.1:26-27. Every woman reaches orgasm normally when proper procedures or foreplay is followed. Oral sex is not natural to humans but started sometime in the past, and people continued with that and they tend to make it a custom. Human beings are not free in any way to do whatever they think satisfies them irrespective of whether is originally sane to think of or not (cf. Sirach 15:11-20). It is only when one has made herself so antagonistic may be as a result of her past experiences or frigidity or what she watches in the internet that are already negative from herself that she tends to support herself because of her abnormal or deviate sexual behaviours. Oral sex is not human way of sexual satisfaction. How hygienic do one think he or she is that will lead to sucking/licking her vagina or sucking his penis and swallowing the sperm through the mouth?

Response - When we talk of sucking of breast in foreplay it is not the same thing as sucking/licking of the genitalia with the tongue. It is as a result of what wrong is there, am I not free to do as I wish even with my partner, that led human beings into doing what is dirty, unhygienic, debasing, morally and spiritually atrocious and seeing it as something invoke which all must participate. Freedom is not liberty to do whatever you want or wish rather it is an act of doing the will of him who created you in your choice. If He who gave you life as human says it is abominable in that your choice, who are you then to rationalize over it? Do you as a person think that you are the same like a beast in everything simply because it is a creature of God? It is only when we get/search for joy/satisfaction in what is not proper to the human dignity that we go into the question or statement of seeing nothing wrong or sinful in what is inconceivable and we want it to be normal or even making reference because another person has done it, so it is not bad.

Response - You tried but when human being behave during sex like animals it is an abomination before God, therefore, sucking the genitalia of a woman or that of a man when the woman sucks the penis with her mouth is an abomination before the sight of God, cf. the biblical quotations in the write-up. The vagina is ONLY for the acceptance of the penis NOT FOR LICKING or SUCKING by a human being, so also the penis is NOT to be SUCK as to bring out sperm or drink it by human beings, that is how human being sin as beasts, EVEN MARRIED PEOPLE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DO THAT, LESS ALONE UNMARRIED OR JUST FRIENDS. Under our criminal code it is one of those offences against the order of nature.  Bestiality even under our Igbo custom is an abomination. It’s so regrettable that in recent time some Euro-centric thoughts and movements have watered down the evil of bestiality in the form of advocating for human and animal rights. Statistics have it that a good number of Americans and Europeans with house-hood animals or pets sleep and have sex with them and infact they don't see anything wrong with it. Most consenting adult believe that what they do in private should be for their pleasure and so they go to any length to achieve that. They don't care whether its decent, immoral, or evil .All they crave is that satisfaction. Most couples that lick their partner genitals do that to satisfy their partner and also to prevent their partner indulging in adultery or infidelity. Honestly and in reality some people believe that in sexual activity there are no boundaries and that is why they go to the extreme. Lust is another factor that contribute and also exposure to porn movies and prostitutes make people to act that way.

THE TURNING OF HUMANS INTO BEASTS: A WAY TO SPIRITUAL CUM MORAL DEBASEMENT IN SEXUAL INTERCOURSE BY REV FR PAUL IKECHUKWU OGUJIOFFOR.

Etymologically, the Hebrew word חֵיוָא [cheva or chevah] means beast which the Latin word bestialis, renders it as beast or bestiality. In Greek θηρίον [thérion] properly means a wild beast, any animal or met or a brute; hence thēríon the generic term for wild animal (beast); is figuratively brutal or bestial nature. In religion thēríon is never refers to animals used for sacrifice. How then do the topic come up or better still how do human beings turn into beasts, regarding sexual intercourse, as to be a spiritual and moral debasement even among married people? It is from this question that the point of departure has to do with what is then bestiality and how does it affects human dignity regarding the conjugal love, and also taking it into the illicit relationship in heterosexual, homosexual and lesbianism (cf. Lev.18; 20; Rom.1:26-27)?

What is bestiality? 1. Bestiality is sexual relations between a person and an animal, including intercourse, masturbation, cunnilingus, frottage (rubbing), anal penetration, or having ones’ genitals licked by a human being (men licking female genitalia and anus or vice versa) or by an animal. This should never be done or practiced even by those who are properly married in the Church. 2. A synonym for zoophilia, but a distinction is sometimes made between bestiality, a sexual act with animals, and zoophilia, sexual arousal from contacts with animals. 3. Bestiality is sexual relations with an animal or a type of fornication, which, like homosexuality or lesbianism is unnatural that is contra natura (against nature) [Rom.1:26-27]. Bestiality, homosexuality and lesbianism are also known as sodomy. Bestiality is a perverted behaviour and anyone who says that bestiality is normal, is also perverted. It is also a disease which is contagious no matter how we may think that we are medically alright even among couples. Therefore, married couples or friends who say licking of genital organs during sexual intercourse is normal or good, and a way of reaching orgasm are simply beasts, the act is abominable in the sight of God therefore, even for married couples it is never among the foreplay before coition. Coition is the act of sexual procreation between a man and a woman whereby the man's penis is inserted into the woman's vagina and excited until orgasm and ejaculation occurs. It comes from coitus [coi- + -tus suffix of venereal action, which from Latin means, a coming together, uniting, and sexual intercourse].

The Word of God says that bestiality is an abomination in the sight of God.

a)      πᾶν κοιμώμενον μετὰ κτήνους θανάτῳ ἀποκτενεῖτε αὐτούς-Qui coierit cum jumento, morte moriatur-The man who is guilty of bestiality must pay for it with his life Exo.22:19.

b)      καὶ πρὸς πᾶν τετράπουν οὐ δώσεις τὴν κοίτην σου εἰς σπερματισμὸν ἐκμιανθῆναι πρὸς αὐτό καὶ γυνὴ οὐ στήσεται πρὸς πᾶν τετράπουν βιβασθῆναι μυσερὸν γάρ ἐστιν-Cum omni pecore non coibis, nec maculaberis cum eo. Mulier non succumbet jumento, nec miscebitur ei, quia scelus est-Do not have sexual relations with an animal and defile yourself with it. A woman must not present herself to an animal to have sexual relations with it; that is a perversion Lev.18:23; 20:15-16.

c)      ἐπικατάρατος ὁ κοιμώμενος μετὰ παντὸς κτήνους καὶ ἐροῦσιν πᾶς ὁ λαός γένοιτο- Maledictus qui dormit cum omni jumento: et dicet omnis populus: Amen-Cursed is the man who has sexual relations with any animal or behaves as such with a human Deut.27:21.

d)     God created us in his own image and not of the image of beast. καὶ ἐποίησεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν ἄνθρωπον κα{T'} εἰκόνα θεοῦ ἐποίησεν αὐτόν ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ ἐποίησεν αὐτούς-Et creavit Deus hominem ad imaginem suam: ad imaginem Dei creavit illum, masculum et feminam creavit eos-So God made man in his own image, made him in the image of God. Man and woman both, he created them Gen.1:27.

Bestiality is a horrible, unnatural, and abominable sin, hence is condemned so strongly? First, it is an unnatural perversion. Clearly, human beings (husband and wife) were designed/intended to mate with each other and in a human way not like animals. In the creation account, none of the animals was “suitable” for Adam (Gen.2:20). Second, bestiality represents the ultimate of sexual deviancy. The fact that the animal was to be put to death (Lev.20:15-16), despite the fact that it would be “innocent,” indicates how wickedly perverse bestiality is. Third, and perhaps most importantly, bestiality essentially denies the uniqueness of humanity, which God created in His image (Gen.1:27). Bestiality lowers humanity to nothing more than an animal, a beast that is unable to distinguish right from wrong, natural from unnatural, love from lust.

A return to God!!! - Oh Lord if You should mark our sins and iniquities, none of us can survive, but with you is found forgiveness that you may be revered Ps.130:3-4. Very many people have seen themselves in this mess out of lustful passion not knowing the gravity of what they were doing or did, Oh Merciful God forgive us all. Let us from today know the right thing to do not to be overcome by our lustful passions for you told us all that Your grace is enough for us (cf.2 Cor.12:9). We ask this through Our Lord Jesus Christ your Son, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit One God forever and ever, Amen.
